MOVES Program Showcase

Makerspace Central has invited O-SCAN organizations, educators, and the community to attend the MOVES Program Showcase day on Saturday, August 15th 9 AM – 3 PM.

O-SCAN members are also invited to host an informational table at the event to highlight career pathways that relate to drones either through logistics or supply chain and STEAM career paths.

Makerspace Central is a Columbus, Ohio-based 501c3 nonprofit focused on providing high-quality STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) experiences to underserved & under-represented K-12 youth. The organization fosters hands-on learning to inspire creativity, innovation, and career readiness in STEAM fields. Through the pop-up makerspace events, student participants use foundational STEAM principles on a path of self-discovery, empowering the next generation of problem-solvers.

The MOVES Showcase is an annual competition that brings together local high school students to address industry-informed design challenges, providing realworld skills to participants. This year’s challenge is drones! Students will design, build, and test drones from scratch- no previous experience required and no cost to participate. Join Makerspace Central for their Showcase Day as they highlight the creations, ingenuity, and ambition of Central Ohio junior engineers!
